Dr. Larry Brewster
Dr. Larry Brewster joined the University of San Francisco in 1999 and his instruction focuses on leadership ethics, management and organization theory, and public policy and evaluation. He has served as the dean of the College of Professional Studies and served two years as acting dean of the School of Education at the University of San Francisco.
Dr. Brewster graduated from the University of Southern California in 1975 with his PhD in Political Science. He is the author of Paths of Discovery: Art Practice and its Impact in California Prisons, which details the lives of incarcerated individuals who found themselves through self-examination and the discipline of artistic process. His interest in the arts among the incarcerated launched a California prison arts program in collaboration with the William James Association and the California Lawyers for the Arts. He is also a member of the board of directors for the William James Association and the Marin Shakespeare Company.
